Young hip hop songwriter calls out today’s hottest rappers to return to real musicianship with new movement, “Bring The Bars Challenge” Detroit – Local hip-hop artist, songwriter, and producer “So Easy” is forming a bold new movement, “Bring The Bars Challenge” which hopes to return musical standards back to the industry. “Bring The Bars” ultimately challenges songwriters and rappers to hone their craft and stop feeding the public poorly written songs with mediocre lyrics. So Easy, who has been lauded as being in his own lane when it comes to lyrical genius says, “Even when the beats are hot, without real lyrics that mean something, all you have is a watered down commercial version of genuine hip hop and good musicality.”
Rapper Kid Cudi and others have been speaking out against major artists like Drake and Kanye West for not being authentic with their music. However, Easy denies rumors that he has already recruited Kid Cudi, Tyler The Creator, and Chance The Rapper, to be a part of his movement. “No, we haven’t spoken to their camp, but I would love to work with them to help change the game,” Easy said. Kristopher Levon Loyd, aka So Easy, blames the love of money, the quest for a record deal and just being young, for creating lazy rappers or those that lack real skill. “Most of today’s rappers don’t have true talent and don’t understand they have an obligation to the public to produce good music. “Bring The Bars Challenge” is about artists not being weak or typical because the words are paradoxically more important,” So Easy said. So Easy’s love of rap and hip hop can be traced to the legends Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. However, it was Eminem’s 2007 Syllables track, one of the greatest of all time, which inspired Easy to use a sample in his outro. This was the beginning of his signature twist of thought provoking metaphors and taboo symbolism with his messages – demonstrating that the greats don't respect lazy music so the fans shouldn't either. His latest joint, “Return Of The Tape" cleverly pays homage to Mack Morrison's "Return Of The Mack" and emphasizes part two of the "Truth Be Told" series – making So Easy the one to watch. So Easy says, “I honestly believe you speak what's in the abundance of your heart. If you're a musician, remember what you say in your music shows who you are.” About So Easy A Detroit native, So Easy grew up with the unwavering support of his big brother, Keith Loyd who instilled perseverance and tenacity – essential tools in the industry. Easy has a "Detroit sound" foundation but strives to expand the consciousness of others through hard topics and overall "clean" rap. So Easy not only writes his own lyrics but engineers the music he records through his own mastering company, 13th Amendment, LLC. Many of Easy’s songs are done without profanity because he possesses the skill to do so and still make good music – proving to listeners that clean music is lyrically better than the music most hear on the radio.
